First Draft Update
Why do some leaders rise above the rest? Why do some teams thrive while others flail, even when their resources look the same on paper? And why, despite all our advancements, does strong leadership and organizational culture still seem so difficult for so many?
Those questions have followed me for years. Eventually, they formed the skeleton of a book I couldn’t ignore.
So I made space. I carved out the time. And I wrote Built on Purpose: Lessons in Leadership and Culture. I am passionate about helping people and organizations get better; I believe that improving leadership and culture is the way.
First draft is done. It came together with surprising simplicity, but not without effort. Simple, not easy. I know you know the difference.
Now, I’ve heeded others’ advice and stepped back for a week or two before jumping into revisions with fresh eyes. Then we move into editing, then launch.
I won’t flood this blog with “writing updates” - I don’t find them to be terribly interesting copy - but I will pop in occasionally with quick notes as we head toward the finish line. More than anything, I can’t wait to share this book with the world.
